Carrie Milhous believes that psychotherapy is a process of discovery and healing that leads to greater awareness, understanding, and compassion.
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals affected by trauma, addiction, anxiety, and affective disorders. She also serves adolescents and adults living with ADHD and assists parents in developing successful parenting strategies.
Additional clinical areas she is passionate about include marriage preparation and enhancement, as well as supporting older adults as they encounter disabilities and caregiving responsibilities.
Carrie favors a strength-based approach, using both cognitive behavioral and Internal Family Systems theoretical approaches. She is also a trauma-informed therapist and an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist.
Carrie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Georgia. She obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Notre Dame and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Clinical and Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southern University. Carrie is a registered out-of-state telehealth provider with the Florida Department of Health, authorized to provide telehealth services to individuals located in Florida.
